Warwick Heights Tennis Club, a small, private tennis facility, was established in 1963 to provide a neighborhood setting for adults and children in which to learn and play tennis. Located in Warwick, RI, at Love Lane and Cedar Avenue, its popularity and membership have grown over the years while preserving its original, relaxed and unassuming atmosphere. This outdoor tennis club provides a truly enjoyable experience for all members regardless of tennis ability.
Owned and supported by the club members and governed by an elected board and officers, Warwick Heights Tennis Club is a desirable choice for avid tennis enthusiasts due to its affordability, limited memberships and popular clay courts. When purchased in 1963, the facility had two clay courts and a small clubhouse built around a charming, fieldstone fireplace. Two additional clay courts and a hard court have been added as the membership increased. There is no reservation system to play tennis. The Club operates from early spring to late fall, and a tennis professional offers instructional programs for children and Juniors aspiring to play competitive tennis.
WHTC is noted for its long-standing membership. The Club’s daily upkeep, organization and social activities are undertaken by dedicated members who volunteer their time. On a summer day, members and guests can be seen enjoying a challenging tennis match or engaging in a friendly conversation on the clubhouse deck. Children can be seen learning how to hit a tennis ball while parents watch from the sidelines. Warwick Heights offers a casual and comfortable setting for children, teens, adults and families who love to play tennis.
